I have just been reflecting on how much our motivation needs boosting from time to time when we are trying to lose weight. I am the sort of person who can, if I let myself, withdraw from the world and all the motivation it offers. These are the times that I find my comfort eating creeping back and my motivation evaporating into the ether!

Does the word “Motivation” have a charge for you? Do you notice that when you get ready to begin certain projects curious personal behaviors emerge? Have you noticed the desire to stop reading this article altogether? This topic can be a bit overwhelming.
How many of us have listened to “motivational speakers” and wanted someone to just, oh, I don’t know, perhaps shush them up!!! Or how about reading books on motivation and finding that you don’t even have the motivation to finish the book
? As a human and a coach this issue comes up often. The common thread is that many of us have behaviors that seem to undermine the desire to complete something that we really want to do.

Our habitual tendencies shape and mold our current existence; they also create the opportunities for success or failure. Being aware of their existence and altering them to our desired results is thereby crucial if we want to attain the aspirations we desire.
Habits can be classified as anything we do on a consistent basis in which we are in essence addicted to doing that certain thing. Addiction might be a rough word to use, but a simple test would be to see how you would feel not doing what you consistently do. It would feel uncomfortable right? Well that action is a habit and you are addicted to the emotions it creates.

Of all the negative character traits, envy is the only one with a redeeming factor. A healthy dose of envy is even good – think of it as fuel to drive your way to success or contentment. Take heart, it’s perfectly normal for people to look at others and wish to have what they have. Partly because it is in our nature to make changes; and partly because we really are not easily contented. The trick is to use that envy to better your life instead of using it to fuel your hate.

As a human being, you will probably have been given a problem to solve. This does not mean you have to be in school – many problems come from our experiences in daily life. What you probably didn’t know are the steps you have to go through to solve problems. Read on and find out what they are.
The first part is when your mind absorbs as much information about the problem as you can scrounge around for. This means you take in not just valid information but plenty of misinformation as well.
