3 Steps Toward Definiteness Of Purpose
Have you ever asked yourself, “why am I not where I want to be in life?” Chances are that you probably have. But have you ever asked, “what is it that I REALLY want?” The results of this question probably vary greatly from the first. And what many people fail to realize is, this is the more important question! It is not enough to simply say, “I want to have lots of money!” You must have DEFINITENESS OF PURPOSE! Let’s take a closer look at this, and what it is which you need to acquire this.
Know What Is Out There
If it is your intention to achieve success chasing your dreams, then you must know what your options are. Take the following example:
Two recent high school graduates are seeking to join the military. One of these individuals has many friends who are/were in the military, and hence, an endless supply of knowledge to guide him in the many decisions he has ahead. So, he will have the inside track on the jobs available to him, what those jobs entail, the realities of life in the military and so on. The list is literally endless!
The other individual knows no one with a military background or experience. It is easy to see that the road ahead of him is far more difficult to see than the first individual. If he relies solely on what his recruiter (salesman) has to tell him, he may find himself somewhere that he doesn’t want to be. And this could have all been avoided! This is why the next topic is almost certainly the most important, as it will play a significant role in your accomplishment of the other two steps, and will continue thereafter to play an exponentially growing role in ALL of your future success!
Join a Mastermind Group
Mastermind groups are the single most essential key in the success of ANYONE in ANY endeavor! What most people don’t realize is that you do not have to know a lot of people right now to accomplish this. Napoleon Hill defines the “Master Mind” as “coordination of knowledge and effort, in a spirit of harmony, between two or more people for the attainment of a definite purpose.” Again, A DEFINITE PURPOSE! But don’t worry, mastermind groups or your search for a mastermind group can help you to decide exactly what your definite purpose is. One of the most important points to pin down is that most people have no idea what is available to them and hence, no idea what they want to do. So if this is the case for you, don’t fret! Mastermind groups are available for you in all aspects of your life (i.e. online, the people you know, the people you interact with daily, etc).
Discover What You REALLY Want
As I said before, it is not enough to simply say, “I want a ton of money!” So what does this mean then? Well, how much money do you want? How do you intend to get it? What are you willing to give in exchange for these riches? The beginning of your road to success starts and stops right here! And the previous two steps are your keys to arriving here. Be sure to take ALL pains in deciding exactly what you want, and be sure to ask yourself every question. Finally, when you know what you want, create for yourself a plan of action and PUT IT INTO MOTION! It doesn’t matter how small the action you take to accomplish this, just make sure that you DO accomplish this, and re-arrive at your plan daily to ensure that it is always at the front of your mind!
